Chalong Bay Phuket
Chalong is a large bay with a pier that is the main departure point for diving and fishing trips from Phuket. The pier is a good place to charter boats for fishing, diving or snorkelling trips to nearby islands.
Despite the fact that Chalong Bay does not have a great beach for swimming due to the muddy bottom and large number of boats moored here but Chalong Bay is immensely popular as an intense boating destination and an ideal natural spot for yacht mooring. Chalong bustles with activity during early mornings and late afternoons when divers and day trip groups are ferried from the Chalong Jetty to their favorite spots. Apart from the adventure escapades, Chalong Bay boasts its share of history through the Wat Chalong Buddhist Temple which gives a glimpse of the life of the legendary Buddhist monk, Luang Poh Cham.
