Pranburi Mongrove Forest
Pranburi Mongrove Forest Park located in Klongkao-Klongkob National Reserve Forest, Pranburi Distrtict, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It is 3.17 sq.km. It is the Forest Development Plan of Paknum Pranburi in accordance with Her Majesty Queen Sirikitโs wish. The area has been declared a forest park by the Royal Forest Department since September 30, 1982.
The main water resource of the district is the Pranburi River, with a mangrove forest (the protected Pranburu Forest Park) at the mouth of the river where it flows into the Gulf of Thailand, further boosting the areaโs scenic, natural appeal.
A one-kilometre stretch of beach here is fringed by pine trees and there are several mangrove nature trails for adventurous visitors to explore. Beaches are very popular with visitors, as they are still less crowded than those of nearby Hua Hin. The main beach is fronted by a small road that extends south from the estuary of the Pranburi River to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park.
This coastal national park is undoubtedly Pranburiโs star attraction, and covers an area of 98 square kilometers. Limestone mountains, caves, mangrove swamps, beautiful beaches and various kinds of local and migrating birds make up the parkโs main appeal.
With its many ridges, Khao Sam Roi Yot (which means โthe mountain of 300 peaksโ) stands as a landmark for seamen. Hat Sam Phraya, located 3.5km north of the park office, is a beautiful beach lined with pine trees. Tham Kaeo and Tham Sai are caves with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Another well-known cave is Tham Phraya Nakhon, which has a big hole through which a shaft of light reaches and permits the growth of various kinds of plants. Khao Daeng is a view point from where spectacular views can be enjoyed, and Ban Khao Daeng a canal-side village, which is also the starting point for a one-hour boat trip to watch wild birds.
Pranburi Forest Park consists of mixed forest and mangrove forest. It has naturally beautiful sceneries and beaches. Pranburi River also runs through the middle of the forest.
The weather of the forest is influenced by monsoon and land breeze. It consists of three seasons.
1. Rainy Season โ June to middle of November
2.Winter โ middle of November to February
3. Summer โ March to May
Plants in the area are pine three, Casuarina, mangrove swamp, cycad, copper pod, Aloe, neem three, Australian wattle, tropical almond, for example. The animals in the area are small-size animal such as hare, porcupine, squirrel, chipmunk, and many kinds of kingfisher and reptile.
There are two convenient ways to get there by
Use old Phetchakasem Road from Huahin. At 16 kilometers from Huahin, there has a sign guide left to Pranburi Forest Park 4 kilometers.
Or use the new road Chaum-Pranburi. Before entering Pranburi, turn left at the junction of three roads called Samyak Phetchakasem. And along the road to Huahin about 8 kilometers, there has a byroad at the right and a sign point to Pranburi Forest Park 4 kilometers.
Accommodations
The Forest Park provides camping area and toilet. Tourists can ask permission for camping from the head of Pranburi Forest Park directly. Pranburi Forest Park consists of mixed forest and mangrove forest. It has naturally beautiful sceneries and beaches. The Pranburi River runs through the middle of the forest. There are fisherman village, called Paknum Pranburi Khaotao (Pranburi-Khaotao estuary), and Samroyyod National Park nearey. These are appropriate and convenient places to visit.
Pranburi Forest Park Beach Pranburi Forest Park Beach is a long white sand beach that protudes into a sea in some area while upper to the shore it is the line of casualina tree along with a beach.
